Chili Cookoff

THE BLUE SAGE “SOME LIKE IT HOT” CHILI COOK-OFF will heat up Paonia Town Park on Friday, September 26th, and kick off the 8th annual Mountain Harvest Festival with a bang – or is that a blaze? Got a to-die-for chili recipe you’ve been anxious to try out on your friends -- or enemies? Just enter your chili -- red, green or meatless -- in this year’s cook-off, and you could be the winner of a $75 cash prize (one for each category) or the coveted People’s Choice award.
A panel of culinary specialists (aka Judges) will be the final (and only) decision-makers in the green, red and meatless categories, tasting the delectable delights by a secretly assigned code. Results will be tallied by the Price Waterhouse accounting firm, or some other equally qualified and trustworthy group. The People’s Choice award will be decided -- well, by the People, so come on down and vote early and often!
Music in the park by the Metamoocil Mountain Boys will certainly spark your appetite, and there’s beer to put out the flames, so don’t miss this local tradition. It’s guaranteed to be a Hot Time!
