The Lindells
Don't let the acoustic guitars fool ya - this is high mountain music at it's finest! Whether it's played electric or acoustic, The Lindells offer up a delectable brew of roots rock, cosmic country, folk-noir, wicked 'grass and funky reggae. Get ready for stunning harmonies, blistering guitar, New Orleans style backbeat rythyms and atmospheric jams! According to M. John Fayhee, it's "bona fide mountain music...it's the tone, attitude, and subject matter...as much as the style. [The Lindell's music] translates intimacy and awareness into...shivers of sympathetic comprehension"!The one and only JJ Cale was seen dancing across the floor during The Lindells' soundcheck when they shared the bill with him at the infamous Rico Theatre high in the Colorado mountains. The Lindells were invited to the 2006 Grateful Fest at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park, Ohio, by Bob Matthews, where this legendary producer and recording engineer for the Grateful Dead, said: "Kim and Chris Lindell have been blessed with a rare gift... [their music is] a grace to witness... most satisfying!"
The Lindells songs come straight from the edge with their own brand of psychedelic folk, blues and rock. When Chris and Kim started making music together, they spent many long days in the wildlands of Joshua Tree, climbing high, playing guitars and writing songs out in the empty desert. They lay their hands on a towering headstone, innocent of the legendary specter of Gram Parsons’ incendiary farewell, keenly aware of some transmission from beyond, as the dusty, windswept monument played a part in shaping their music. Under the radar, running it out and laying it on the line, The Lindells’ music is a singular, haunting, labor of love - rare self-taught talent and intense, powerful expression.
Living in the high mountains and deserts has left an indelible tattoo on The Lindell's music. Their songs are born of the wild places of the American West, creating a rich landscape of sound with a deep tradition and respect for the working mans' blues, spare, visionary lyrics, and brilliant melody. The Lindell's music feels alive - like outrunning lightning on a sheer, windlblown summit or kicking back in a high grass meadow watching clouds roll by while the sun keeps shining through the falling rain. Mixed in with The Lindells' own signature songs are their incredible versions of songs by JJ Cale, Merle Haggard, Neil Young, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Black Sabbath, Cowboy Junkies, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Garcia and more.
The Lindells' music gets inside you and down into your dreams - you just might wake with their songs in your head! Check out the Lindells' free downloads of live shows at these links: www.lindellsmusic.com http://www.archive.org/details/TheLindells ![]() | ||
